Government changes travel warnings

Travelling is getting easier. Since Sunday, 13 June, many countries are no longer considered Covid risk areas. These include, for example, Austria, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and parts of Greece and Croatia. Those who come to Germany by land from one of these countries do not have to expect entry restrictions because of Covid. From Thursday, 1 July, travel options for tourists will improve once again. The German government lifts travel warnings for around 100 countries worldwide on this day, according to the Foreign Ministry. As of 1 July, a new guideline value applies because of Covid. A travel warning will only be issued if more than 200 people per 100,000 inhabitants are newly infected with the virus in an area within a week or if there are dangerous virus variants in countries such as India or Zambia.
