Private meetings possible indefinitely / Mask and 3G still apply

The Bundestag and Bundesrat have passed a new Infection Protection Act with relaxations. Baden-Württemberg will only partially adopt them. Here, some stricter rules continue to apply from Saturday, March 19th, up to and including Saturday, April 2nd.

The most important changes:

At private gatherings such as birthday or wedding parties, there is no longer a limit on the number of guests. For public events such as soccer matches or concerts, the audience restrictions will be dropped as well.

The FFP2 mask requirement will continue to apply in enclosed spaces such as restaurants, gyms and public transport for people over the age of 18. If the minimum distance cannot be maintained outdoors, a medical mask will suffice.

Schoolchildren and daycare center children are to continue wearing masks until April 2nd. Mandatory testing at schools, on the other hand, will be changed. Starting Monday, March 21st, there will then be only two tests per week.

Mandatory masks and testing will continue to apply in hospitals or care facilities such as nursing homes.

The 3G rule will remain in effect until April 2nd for restaurants and public events: Only vaccinated, recovered and tested people are allowed in. Clubs and nightclubs are also allowed to let in only the vaccinated and recovered, as before.  Guests must also be recently tested (2G-Plus). The “pandemic is by no means over”: this is how Minister President Winfried Kretschmann justified the state-specific regulation. The number of infections in Baden-Württemberg continues to rise. More and more Corona patients are in the intensive care units of hospitals.
