Fraudulent craftsmen

Time and again, supposedly professional tradespeople ring the doorbell and offer their services. But there is a high risk with these door-to-door deals. The mobile craftsmen trick their victims: They offer bungling at exorbitant prices. The Chamber of Crafts and the police warn against these dubious tradesmen. It is not only in emergency situations that they charge excessive prices and do poor work. These fraudulent craftsmen specifically look for houses with obvious repair needs and offer quick but inferior services.
To protect themselves, consumers should research local tradesmen in advance, obtain detailed estimates and check the reputability of the companies. If fraud is suspected, it is important to inform the police and, if necessary, contact the consumer advice center to demand a refund. In general, it is recommended to be suspicious and insist on transparent payment methods to protect yourself from fraudulent practices.
