Speed cameras are being used in the city center of Tübingen to check whether the new speed limits are being observed. This was announced by the Tübingen city council at the beginning of November. Since mid-September, drivers have had to slow down in Tübingen city center. “To allow drivers to get used to the new speed limits, we deliberately refrained from carrying out checks. Now this transitional period is over. The speed cameras are back on,” said Lord Mayor Boris Palmer.
On Stuttgarter Straße (B 27) and on the B 28 in the area of Hegelstraße and Reutlinger Straße, the speed limit is now 40 km/h all day. In the city center and also on Wilhelmstraße, the speed limit is now 30 km/h. The speed limit on Stuttgarter Straße in Lustnau between the Adlerkreuzung junction and the Nürtinger Straße junction is 40 km/h. The reason for the new speed limits is the noise action plan adopted by the local council at the end of last year. As a result, the city put up 80 new signs.
