„Gute Stadt Tübingen“ takes third place in the Integration Prize

The city has awarded „Gute Stadt Tübingen“, an initiative by the Orthodox priest Alexei Volchkov from St. Petersburg, third place in the Integration Prize (see tun23092901). Its offer includes city tours and a social media channel. “This is a very great success and a high appreciation of our joint work,” commented the priest on his Telegram channel. Volchkov informs people in the post-Soviet area about the history, culture and current events in Tübingen, thus building bridges between people separated by the war in Ukraine. ارتفاع العداء للأجانب والمسلمين في ألمانيا

Syrische Geflüchtete: Alle offenen Asylverfahren gestoppt

Alle Asylanträge von Syrerinnen und Syrern, die noch nicht entschieden sind, werden in Deutschland ausgesetzt. Das bestätigte das Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF) auf Anfrage von tuenews INTERNATIONAL. Zunächst hatte das Nachrichtenmagazin „Spiegel“ darüber berichtet. Geflüchtete aus Syrien, die bereits einen Bescheid über ihren Antrag erhielten, haben dadurch aber derzeit nichts zu befürchten, heißt es weiter. Die Regelung gelte für alle Anträge, für die die Situation in Syrien ausschlaggebend ist, heißt es bei der Nachrichtenagentur dpa. Einbürgerungen: Die meisten kommen aus Syrien

Immer mehr Syrerinnen und Syrer lassen sich einbürgern. Im Jahr 2023 erhielten 75 500 Männer und Frauen aus diesem Land einen deutschen Pass. Das waren 56 Prozent mehr als im Vorjahr. Dies meldet das Statistische Bundesamt. Bereits ein Jahr zuvor hatte sich die Zahl der Eingebürgerten in dieser Gruppe verdoppelt. Das Amt erklärt das mit der großen Zahl von Geflüchteten, die zwischen 2014 und 2016 wegen des Bürgerkriegs aus Syrien nach Deutschland kamen und nun die Voraussetzungen für die Einbürgerung erfüllen. A Syrian find is the oldest alphabet in the world to date

By Youssef Kanjou Four incised clay tablets, each about four centimetres in size, could be the oldest alphabetic writing in the world to date. They are about 4400 years old and were discovered at Tell Um al-Marra, east of Aleppo, Syria. This makes them 500 years older than the oldest known evidence of an alphabet.
