The dance in May is canceled. And on May 1st, Labor Day, there will be no demonstrations and rallies either. The reason: Existing contact restrictions are now extended up to and including Sunday, May 3rd. This was decided by Chancellor Angela Merkel and the prime ministers of the federal states during a video conference on Wednesday. This means that people must keep at least 1.5 meters away from one another in public spaces. Only families or a maximum of two people who do not live in a household may accompany each other. During a press conference, Merkel strongly recommended wearing a mask while shopping and while using public transport, but there is still not mandatory to do so.
