The partial lockdown is being extended nationwide. Restaurants, museums, theaters and recreational facilities will be closed until Sunday, January 10th, till further notice. This was decided by the chancellor Angela Merkel and the governors of the states. Among other things, Merkel justifies this decision with continuing high number of infections and the very high number of casualties. In Baden-Württemberg, the strict contact restrictions are to be somewhat lessened over Christmas, from the 23rd to the 27th December. During this time, a maximum of ten people, who are close family or friends, plus children who are under the age of 15 can meet. Before that and after 27th December, no more than five people from two households plus children are to meet till January 10th.
