Corona: Number of infected in the district of Tübingen

On April 1, 2020, just over 800 people in the Tübingen district had tested positive for the COVID 19 virus. The district has a total of about 215,000 residents. A total of more than 4,100 tests have been carried out so far, which is about three to four times more than the national average. District Administrator Joachim Walter gave an insight into the composition of the infected at a press conference on April 3. Accordingly, the proportions of infected people in the age groups correspond roughly to the average in the district, where a particularly large number of people belong to the age groups 20 to 35 and 50 to 60. This means that the age groups in the population are affected by infections with a very even distribution. It is striking that slightly more women than men are infected in the district of Tübingen. According to District Administrator Walter, the distribution of people infected with Corona among cities and municipalities in the district area usually corresponds to the proportion of the community population in the district population.
