Holiday jobs for young students

their pocket money during the summer holidays can apply for a holiday job. The following rules should be observed when working: Working hours should not exceed eight hours per day. A maximum of 40 hours with five days in a week is allowed. Working hours may only take place between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. There are, however, deviations for young people aged 16 and over. There must be a break of at least 30 minutes if the working time is between four and a half to six hours, and 60 minutes if work exceeds six hours. No dangerous or heavy work may be carried out.
If the student’s family receives benefits from the job centre, the following applies: Pupils can work a total of four weeks per calendar year during school holidays and earn up to 1200 euros without any reduction in family benefits.
