Lockdown extended until March 7th / Exception for hairdressers

The discipline of people in dealing with corona shows effect. There is currently the lowest number of people infected with the virus out of 100.000 residents in Baden-Württemberg within a week. This was reported by governor Winfried Kretschmann on Wednesday. But the new virus variants are causing alarm for federal and state governments. Consequently, Chancellor Angela Merkel and the governors of the states have decided to extend the lockdown until and including Sunday, March 7th. This means that contacts remain limited. Members of one household can only meet with one other member from a different household. In shops as well as on busses and trains, medical masks (surgical and FFP2-masks) have to be worn. The food service industry, museums, theaters and leisure activities remain closed. The only exception are hairdressers: They can open again on Monday, March 1st, following strict hygiene regulations.
