Religious services and ceremonies remain restricted

In Baden-Württemberg, events and other gatherings in churches, mosques, synagogues and the gathering of other religious communities are still fundamentally prohibited. This initially applies until May 3. As an exception to this prohibition, the country permits non-delayable religious ceremonies such as baptisms and marriages. However, no more than five people and, in addition, the clergy may participate. They must then comply with the infection protection measures, in particular a distance of at least 1.5 meters from the next person. It is also permitted that church services be carried out on a very small scale and streamed online or otherwise distributed in the media. Open-air burials may also be attended by more than five people who are related in a straight line or who live together in a home. This emerges from the ordinance of the Ministry of Culture on infection protection measures against the spread of the SARS-Cov-2 virus in the area of worship services and other religious events, gatherings and gatherings as well as burials of April 2, 2020.
