People who only have a slight cold, but who need a sick note, don’t have to go to the doctor’s office. These patients can continue to get a sick note from their doctor after a phone conversation for up to seven days. This also applies if the patient is not completely healthy after a week. After a phone call, the sick note can be extended for another seven days. For now, this regulation applies until June 30th, 2021. This was announced by the Federal Government on its website. The the sick note via phone is relieving doctor offices during the corona pandemic. There should be as little direct contact as possible between doctors and patients.
