If the health insurance already pays for the transportation to the family physician, one can also invoice the travel to the corona vaccination center as “ambulance service (Krankenfahrt)”. If one wants to be brough to the vaccination center for free, they need a medical prescription. Family doctors can prescribe these medical prescriptions on the phone. The Ministry for Social Affairs and Health announced this agreement with the health insurances in Baden-Württemberg on January 29th, 2021.
