Whether hairdresser or the gym: unvaccinated people need corona tests

The state government of Baden-Württemberg has published the new Corona rules. They will apply from Monday, August 16th. There are no longer any restrictions for private meetings and celebrations. Masks are also no longer not required to be worn during these. However, the mask requirement still applies to all enclosed spaces such as stores. Everyone must also wear masks outdoors if they cannot maintain the minimum distance of 1.5 meters from other people. Children up to and including the age of five still do not need to wear a mask.

Once school starts, students will have to wear masks in class for two weeks. Schools will continue to offer free testing. There will be no mandatory testing for children up to and including age five, for six and seven-year olds who are not yet in school, and for high school students. Participants of religious events also do not have to be tested.

Rapid tests will remain free until 11th Oct. A negative rapid test must be presented by all persons who have not been vaccinated or have not previously had the virus if they want to visit enclosed areas, such as, hospitals, hairdressers, gyms, libraries, indoor restaurants, cinemas, hotels, adult education classes, concerts, and plays. The test must be no more than 24 hours old. Furthermore, guests in clubs and discos need a PCR test that cannot be more than 48 hours old. A PCR  test costs 65 euros in Tübingen. The mandatory testing applies throughout the province of Baden-Württemberg.
