Journalismus wird von Jahr zu Jahr gefährlicher

Immer mehr JournalistInnen kommen ins Gefängnis, weil sie ihre Arbeit machen. 2021 waren am 1. Dezember weltweit 488 Medienschaffende in Haft. Das sind insgesamt 20 Prozent mehr als 2020. Besonders viele Fälle zählt die Organisation Reporter ohne Grenzen in China, Myanmar und Belarus: Dort sind 212 JournalistInnen eingesperrt. Aktuell gelten 65 Medienschaffende als entführt. Fast alle Entführungen geschahen in Syrien, dem Irak und dem Jemen. Nach der Jahresbilanz der Pressefreiheit kamen weniger JournalistInnen als sonst wegen ihrer Arbeit ums Leben. New quarantine rules because of Omicron variant

Baden-Württemberg is tightening quarantine rules because of the new variant of the Corona virus. These rules apply from 15 December. The most important changes: All those tested positive must be quarantined for ten days. This counts from the day the infection was detected by a test. People who have had close contact with people who have tested positive must isolate themselves for 14 days. Those infected with the Omicron variant cannot shorten the quarantine period by testing.
