EU agrees on new common asylum policy

On April 10, 2024, the European Parliament approved the reform of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS), which has been planned for eight years. EU einigt sich auf neue gemeinsame Asylpolitik

Am 10. April 2024 hat das Europäische Parlament der seit acht Jahren geplanten Reform des Gemeinsamen Europäischen Asylsystems (GEAS) zugestimmt. Diesem sogenannten Asylkompromiss müssen nun im Mai noch alle EU-Länder im Rat der EU zustimmen, was als sicher gilt. Danach treten die beschlossenen Gesetzestexte in Kraft. Sie sehen jedoch für die Länder der EU einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahren für die Umsetzung vor und werden damit erst ab der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2026 angewandt. Grenzübertritt mit einer automatisch verlängerten Aufenthaltserlaubnis

Können Ukrainer beim Grenzübertritt mit Schwierigkeiten rechnen, da ihre Aufenthaltsgenehmigung im März 2024 abläuft? Nein. Die Aufenthaltserlaubnisse von Flüchtlingen aus der Ukraine, die vor der russischen Aggression geflohen sind und in Deutschland Schutz erhalten haben, wurden automatisch verlängert.
