Many parents post photos of their children on social networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram. This violates the children’s privacy. Once posted, nobody can control what happens to the pictures. The initiative of the Federal Ministry for Family “LOOK at what your kid does with media” (SCHAU HIN! Was dein Kind mit Medien macht), warns of sex offenders who collect and distribute such images. To protect children, photos should only be shown to acquaintances and trustworthy people.
