Baden-Württemberg intensifies the Corona rules

Those living in Baden-Württemberg will have to prepare for further restrictions starting Wednesday, November 24th. The state will introduce the fourth Corona level, “Alert Level II.” It will be implemented if more than 450 intensive care beds are occupied throughout the state. In accordance with this, 2G plus applies to events in closed rooms such as concert halls, cinemas, at sporting events or in discos and clubs, as well as for body-related services such as cosmetic or nail studios. 2G plus means: even vaccinated and recovered persons must present a current rapid test. Self-tests are not accepted. In hair salons and barbershops, customers must be vaccinated or recovered or provide proof of a PCR test.

Students between the ages of 12 and 17 do not need rapid or PCR testing. Carrying the student ID is sufficient. For students of full age, the same rules as for all adults apply at events, in discos or clubs and for services involving the body. In restaurants, only vaccinated and recovered persons are allowed in enclosed areas during “Alert Level II”.

For private meetings, only one household may be joined by one other person. This does not include those who have been vaccinated or have recovered, children and adolescents under the age of 18, and anyone who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. For pregnant and breastfeeding women, exceptions to the testing requirement and access restrictions apply only until December 10th. After that, a recommendation to get vaccinated has been in place for them for the past three months. There is no restriction for events of religious communities and funerals.

If more than 500 out of 100,000 residents in a county become newly infected with the Corona virus within a week, unvaccinated people in the new “Alert Level II” will only be allowed into stores such as supermarkets, food banks, pharmacies, post offices, gas stations or drugstores, but no longer into boutiques and such. For the unvaccinated or those who have not already recovered from the virus, there will then also be a curfew between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.—unless there is an important reason. Important reasons are, for example, walks alone or with a dog, doctor’s appointments and events of religious communities.
