Nightly curfew for non-vaccinated people

In the district of Tübingen, non-vaccinated people must stay at home at night starting Sunday, January 16th. The reason: More and more people are getting infected with the Corona virus. The limit of 500 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week has been exceeded (seven-day incidence). This is reported by the district office of Tübingen. Booster vaccination for 12- to 17-year-olds

Pushback „beschönigt menschenfeindlichen Prozess“

SprachwissenschaftlerInnen haben das Wort „Pushback“ zum „Unwort des Jahres 2021“ ernannt. „Unwort“ bedeutet hier unangemessenes Wort. Der aus dem Englischen stammende Ausdruck wird für das Zurückdrängen oder Zurückschieben von Flüchtenden verwendet. So sollen sie gehindert werden, Grenzen zu überschreiten. Die ehrenamtliche Jury an der Universität Marburg kritisiert, dass mit diesem Wort das Zurückdrängen als „menschenfeindlicher Prozess beschönigt wird“. Das Fremdwort trage dazu bei, den Verstoß gegen die Menschenrechte und gegen das Grundrecht auf Asyl zu verschleiern.
