Tübingen residents get a discount on the Deutschlandticket

Since July, people who live in Tübingen and its districts have been paying only 34 euros for their Deutschlandticket. This saves them 15 euros compared to the normal retail price of 49 euros. According to the Tübingen city administration, the city council had decided in March to pay subsidies. The offer applies to everyone who lives in the city centre or in one of the suburbs. This means that discounted tickets are available for residents of the city centre, Unterjesingen or Bühl, but not for residents of Ammerbuch. The Deutschlandticket can be ordered as a mobile phone ticket up to two days before the beginning of the month. Those who prefer the paper version only have until the 15th of the previous month to do so. The Deutschlandticket can only be purchased as a subscription.
The discount for Tübingen residents is only available if the ticket is purchased via the Naldo portal. This can be done at the Naldo subscription centre at the Tübinger Stadtwerke (Eisenhutstraße 6, Tübingen) or online. For proof, the identity card or registration certificate must either be presented with the application or —when ordering online—uploaded. To do this, you have to register electronically and download the app “Wohin Du willst” for the mobile phone ticket. Those who buy their Deutschlandticket via the railway or an app provider do not receive the discount for Tübingen residents. Initially, the discounted Deutschlandticket was sold in Tübingen for 39 euros.
The initial plan was for holders of a KreisBonusCard to pay only 15 euros a month for their Deutschlandticket. Due to open questions about financing, administration and processing, a decision will probably not be made until 18 October at the next TüBus supervisory board meeting, according to the Tübingen city administration.
By mid-August, 22,400 Germany tickets had already been sold in the Naldo catchment area, according to the press office of the Naldo transport association. Of these, 9,000 are for the discounted Tübingen offer alone.
The Naldo Abocenter is available at the Tübingen Stadtwerke (Eisenhutstraße 6) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. Contact: 07071-157-457, abo-tue@naldo.de, https://abos.naldo.de/kundenportal/welcome/naldo.xhtml
