Wide range of services: Tübingen public library

What to do after the German course, work or as a remedy for boredom? This is a question many immigrants ask themselves after moving to a new city. TünewsINTERNATIONAL has put together a few free activities and events in Tübingen.
In the Tübingen public library (Nonnengasse 19) you can read newspapers and magazines, borrow books and DVDs. The municipal library also offers books for children and adults in foreign languages. Bilingual books are available in Arabic, Ukrainian, English, French and Russian. Some books are also available in Farsi. Information is available from the counselors on the second floor. The library also offers free Internet access.
In addition, Ukrainian-German dictionaries and children’s books in Ukrainian can be borrowed there. To borrow books, one needs a library card. The holders of the KreisBonusCard can get it free of charge at the library. Further information about the library: www.tuebingen.de/stadtbuecherei/
The library also includes the Tübingen Games Club. Every Thursday at 7 p.m., everyone meets to play board games. Participants can also bring their own games. Those who are not fluent in German always meet fellow players who speak English, the website says. Participation is free, and you don’t have to register either. Further information:

In addition, game enthusiasts meet at the library every first Saturday of the month to play PS 5 and Nintendo Switch. Players test new games together and hold tournaments. No prior registration is required. The next meetings are June 3 and July 1, both from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
