In Tübingen, a residence title can now only be applied for or extended online. This document is needed by anyone who comes from a country outside the European Union and wants to stay in Germany for a longer period of time. Both—application and extension—can be done around the clock and without an appointment at the Foreigners’ Office. The link to the online application for an electronic residence permit (eAT) can be found on the municipal website at:
www.tuebingen.de/eat
The required documents are uploaded and transmitted directly in the online application. This allows the Foreigners’ Office to process the applications more quickly, according to a press release from the city. The only exception is if it is technically impossible to complete the online application. Only then can the documents be sent on to the Foreigners’ Office (Bei der Fruchtschranne 5, 72070 Tübingen) or handed in personally there at the information desk.
It is also no longer possible to book appointments for a personal visit at the Foreigners’ Office. However, appointments already booked until October 27 are still valid.
If it concerns other topics than the residence title, the Foreigners’ Office can be reached by mail at auslaenderamt@tuebingen.de. The telephone office hours are Monday through Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at 07071 / 2402550. If a personal meeting is necessary for a concern, the Foreigners’ Office will contact you and provide an appointment for this.
