In most cases, German authorities such as immigration and social welfare offices or educational institutions require a certified translation of official documents from abroad. On the one hand, this means that you cannot simply translate the document yourself, but must consult a specialist: so-called sworn or publicly appointed translators. If the translation is done by such a sworn translator, the translator’s signature no longer needs to be certified by a notary. He or she confirms that the original document has been translated correctly.

There you can enter the language to be translated in the “Language” field—for example, Ukrainian.
In the “City” field, you can enter the city in which you are looking for a translator. If necessary, this can also be done via the “State” field. If you need a written translation, tick the box for “Translator”. A sworn translator who offers interpreting services can also be found in the register—in this case, the “Interpreter” box should be ticked. Click on “Search” to start the search. To access the contact details, click on the name of one of the suggested translators.
