No train to Ammertal during the vacations

Bus instead of train: This applies during the summer vacation from Tuesday, July 30, to Sunday, September 8, on the route between Tübingen and Herrenberg. Due to construction work on the line from Tübingen to Nürtingen, the overhead line at Tübingen main station will be switched off. This means that electric trains cannot run on the Ammertalbahn. Originally, diesel locomotives were supposed to run there. However, DB Regio has announced that it does not have enough diesel trains available.
A bridge is being replaced on the line from Tübingen to Stuttgart. For this reason, only buses will be running between Tübingen and Reutlingen from Monday, July 29 to Monday, September 9. This also applies to the route to Bad Urach. During the summer vacation, Stuttgart can only be reached directly from Tübingen by bus IRE 6. However, trains run from Reutlingen to the state capital.
Baby carriages and wheelchairs have priority on the buses. A maximum of three bicycles can be carried. All buses on the RB 63 line to Herrenberg, Reutlingen and Bad Urach stop at bus platform R at Tübingen bus station and at bus platform A in Herrenberg.
Construction work on the west cycle bridge in Tübingen will cause detour. From Friday, August 16 to Friday, August 23, Europastrasse will also be fully closed. During this time, buses will only be able to reach the bus station via the Blaue Brücke / B 296 route.
Timetable information is available from DB and Naldo and in future also at www.ammertalbahn.de
