Special vaccination campaign for children

The University Hospital of Tübingen and the district of Tübingen are offering a vaccination against Corona for children. During the special campaign, only five to eleven-year-olds will be vaccinated on the weekend of December 17th to 19th. The Standing Commission on Vaccination (Stiko) recommends vaccination mainly for children with diseases such as diabetes and obesity, and also if they have relatives who could be at risk of a severe case of Corona. At the special request of parents, 5 to 11-year-olds without pre-existing conditions can also be vaccinated. The first children’s vaccination campaign in the district is at the health center of the University Hospital (Hoppe-Seyler-Strasse 6, parking garage P4). Vaccinations will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17th, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18th and 19th. Appointments can be booked from Wednesday via the homepage https://www.medizin.uni-tuebingen.de/de/pop-up-impforte. There it is also written, which documents must be brought along. On site, pediatricians will provide information about the vaccination. Only  Biontech vaccines are available in a low dosage for children.

The recommendation of the Stiko can be found under this link https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/Kommissionen/STIKO/Empfehlungen/PM_2021-12-09.html
