Immigrants wanted for integration council

There is an integration council in Tübingen. It advises the municipal council and the city administration on integration policy issues. The Integration Council is looking for five people to become residents with expertise in integration and migration issues. If one of the incumbent residents leaves the Integration Council, a person from the list of replacements will take his or her place. Interested persons can apply until 15 December 2021. This is announced by the city administration. The municipal council is expected to elect the five replacements in March 2022. The term of office of the current integration council runs until the end of 2024. The integration council meets about six times a year.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have lived in Tübingen for at least six months and want to remain in Tübingen until the end of 2024. People with an immigrant background are particularly sought after. According to the city administration, they should be “interested in local political issues, have migration-specific experience and knowledge and want to work for a good integration policy in Tübingen”. Interested persons should also have time to work in working groups of the integration council and as an advisory member in the municipal council. The Integration Council is made up of twelve knowledgeable residents, seven members of the municipal council and one representative of the city administration.
