Borrowing E-books in Ukrainian: Offers from the city libraries for refugees

The city libraries in the region have special free offers for refugees from Ukraine. To be able to use the offers, you need a library card. This can be done by visiting the library’s website. Moreover, you can use the Internet connection for free in all libraries.
The Reutlingen Public City Library offers the option of borrowing Ukrainian e-books for three weeks via the website: bw.overdrive.com, so you can read them on your smartphone, tablet, or e-book reader. Information about the offers is also available in Ukrainian. The library card is free for six months for refugees, but an ID card and a confirmation of registration are required. The library also offers children’s books, media, and audio formats in Ukrainian. Free children’s books from Ukrainian publishers and audiobooks in Ukrainian are also available. Also, lots of educational materials for Ukrainian children are there. The collection of links can be found at:

There is also a reference to the German-Ukrainian Reading Club, which will take place on Thursday, September 8, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the children’s library of the Reutlingen Public Library of the City, Spendhausstraße 2, 72764 Reutlingen.
The Tübingen City Library (Nonnengasse 19, 72070 Tübingen) also offers free library cards for refugees. The library plans to purchase books in Ukrainian. Also, there are many multilingual book titles available at the Tübingen library, including some books in English. A free study booklet is available on the Internet in which Ukrainian refugees can learn a little German for free:

Tübingen also refers to an overview of the city public library in Dachau, which has compiled sources for Ukrainian children’s books. More information can be found on the homepage of the Tübingen City Library at

The Rottenburg public library (Königstraße 2 in 72108 Rottenburg am Neckar) offers a two-month trial membership for four euros, among other things. If you have a library card, you can also use the website: bw.overdrive.com in Rottenburg to borrow eBooks in Ukrainian for free. There is also access to the Ukrainian translation of the Brockhaus encyclopaedia and a collection of links to eBooks, audios, and films for children in the Ukrainian language. There is also a whole range of other information and links for refugees from Ukraine on the homepage of the Rottenburg public library. Anyway, the Rottenburg City Library will be closed for maintenance until August 27th:
