Mutterschutz in Deutschland

Seit 2018 gibt es in Deutschland ein modernisiertes Mutterschutzgesetz, das schwangeren und stillenden Frauen bestmöglichen Gesundheitsschutz garantieren soll. Tätigkeiten im Beruf wie Nachtschichten oder Akkordarbeit, die die Mutter oder das Kind schädigen können, sind verboten. Arbeitgeber dürfen Frauen sechs Wochen vor und acht Wochen nach der Geburt nicht beschäftigen. Bei Frühgeburten, Zwillingen und behinderten Kindern beträgt die Schutzfrist nach der Geburt zwölf Wochen. In diesen Zeiten wird Mutterschaftsgeld gezahlt.
