Employment toleration for 30 months: The state government informs about the requirements

In the next few weeks, the state government of Baden-Württemberg will personally and actively inform approximately 10,000 people in a letter about the possibility of the “Beschäftigungsduldung”. These persons are “tolerated” and pursue employment. However, due to a negative asylum procedure, they are actually obliged to leave the country. When asked, Gunter Carra, deputy press spokesman of the Ministry of Justice and Migration Baden-Württemberg, told tünews INTERNATIONAL: “In this information letter, tolerated persons are informed about the requirements, the application and the necessary documents for an employment toleration. During this phase, deportation is suspended. After 30 months, there is the… Read More

Support for relatives in Afghanistan in the Tübingen asylum center

Because of the current threat situation, many people are worried about their relatives and friends in Afghanistan, who are still in the country. The Tübingen asylum center is offering consultation appointments and support: all data of the affected person in Afghanistan as well as a statement about the threat level, if possible with proof, is recorded in a form. The asylum center then sends this form to the Federal Foreign Office. During a press conference on 25th August, the Federal Foreign Office stated “that the end of the airlift, the end of the military evacuation operation, doesn’t mean the end… Read More

First study about „Russian-Germans”: well-integrated

Since the end of the 1980s, 2.7 million people from countries of the former Soviet Union have migrated to Germany. With about 3.5 million, they form the largest immigrant group today. However, little is known about their situation. The migrant researcher Jannis Panagiotidis (University of Osnabrück, University of Wien since 1/8/2021) has recently published the first comprehensive study about this population group, which he calls “post-soviet migrants”. Incidentally, the current German tennis Olympia winner Alexander Zverev also belongs to that group. The largest part of the post-soviet migrants is from Russia and Kazakhstan, but also from Ukraine. One part of… Read More

Security measures on social media for people in Afghanistan

Facebook and Instagram allow people in Afghanistan to protect their accounts from getting spied on. Nathaniel Gleicher, Head of Security Policy at Facebook, wrote this on Twitter on 19 August. People in Afghanistan could lock their accounts for other users with a single click. This means that only friends can see the photos or posts in a user’s timeline. In addition, the possibility to search the friend lists of other users has been suspended in Afghanistan for a short time. This is to prevent the Taliban from tracking down political opponents on Facebook, such as former employees of foreign armed… Read More

Bewilderment concerning the situation of the people in Afghanistan

What should we at tünews INTERNATIONAL write about the change of power in Afghanistan? We discussed this for hours in our editorial meeting. We heard about the bafflement of our colleagues whose family members have died in the almost five-decade-long war. Suddenly everything in vain? Of relatives who had previously worked as teachers or in administration. We wondered what future awaits them now? With Iran’s interest in water resources and China’s in mineral resources, and Russia’s concern about terrorist attacks in neighboring countries like Tajikistan. Of warlords who want to regain power. Which money is used to establish which order?… Read More

Current figures on training toleration

Currently, 8,000 people are completing their training in Germany with a training toleration, compared to only 3,600 in 2019. These figures from the Federal Ministry of the Interior were announced by the “Mediendienst Integration”. The vast majority of these trainees come from Afghanistan (around 2,000), as well as from Gambia, Iraq, Iran and Guinea. The increase, however, is at a very low level, as a total of more than 200,000 people with toleration live in Germany, among them almost 150,000 refugees with rejected asylum applications. With a training toleration, one can stay in Germany for the entire training period and… Read More

The Taliban are taking more and more areas in Afghanistan. Therefore, the security situation has gotten worse and worse since the international troops withdrew. As a consequence, some countries, among them Germany, won’t deport any more people to Afghanistan for the moment. This was announced by a spokesperson of the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has changed his position because of the developments in Afghanistan. So far, he and the federal government rejected a general halt to deportation. The Federal Foreign Office is currently still working on a report about the situation in Afghanistan. This report… Read More

Fictional Certificate

If you apply for a residence permit or a settlement permit in Germany, the foreigners’ office sometimes gives you a fictional certificate (Fiktionsbescheinigung). This fictional certificate is issued by the immigration office if it has not yet decided on the person’s application. With this fictional certificate, the person’s stay in Germany is considered lawful and permitted. The period for which the foreigners’ office issues this certificate, is the period within which it wants to decide on the actual application. Anyone who has a fictional certificate is allowed to leave and re-enter Germany. tun21072703 Fiktionsbescheinigung. Foto: tünews INTERNATIONAL. Latest information on… Read More
