The state is supporting families who have too little income because of the Corona crisis. These parents can receive further financial assistance for children up to 25 years of age living in their household and for whom they receive child benefit: the child allowance (KiZ) if up to 185 euros per child per month. From 1st April onwards, only the income of the last month (no longer that of the last six months) is decisive for the calculation. Detailed information is now available on the website www.notfall-kiz.de. On the website www.arbeitsagentur.de parents can check with the “KiZ-Lotse” whether they are entitled to the child allowance or not. The application can be submitted online.
