Fake-Inkasso: Auf keinen Fall an die Betrüger zahlen

Betrüger lassen sich immer neue Tricks einfallen. Aktuell schicken sie falsche Inkasso-Briefe. Inkasso bedeutet hier, dass Unternehmen andere Firmen beauftragen, das Geld für nicht bezahlte Rechnungen einzutreiben. In den Briefen verlangen die Betrüger zum Beispiel mehrere hundert Euro für angebliche Glücksspiel-Abos. Die Inkasso-Firmen fordern dazu auf, eine Einzugsermächtigung zu unterschreiben. Sie drohen unter anderem mit Gerichtsverfahren, Zwangsvollstreckungen oder Pfändungen. Doch diese Firmen gibt es nicht. Es handelt sich um Fake-Inkasso. Immer mehr JournalistInnen kommen ins Gefängnis, weil sie ihre Arbeit machen. 2021 waren am 1. Dezember weltweit 488 Medienschaffende in Haft. Das sind insgesamt 20 Prozent mehr als 2020. Besonders viele Fälle zählt die Organisation Reporter ohne Grenzen in China, Myanmar und Belarus: Dort sind 212 JournalistInnen eingesperrt. Aktuell gelten 65 Medienschaffende als entführt.
