Eine „Postkarte“ aus dem antiken Kyrrhos

Von Leila Nouioua Eine Münze aus der Tübinger Münzsammlung stammt aus Kyrrhos, einer antiken Stadt, deren Ruinen im heutigen Nordwesten Syriens am Afrin-Fluss liegen. Wie die meisten aus den östlichen Provinzen des römischen Reichs, ist auch diese nicht aus Edelmetall, sondern aus Bronze gefertigt worden. Die Münze hat einen Durchmesser von 2,7 cm und wiegt 14,72 g. Die Vorderseite zeigt das Portrait des römischen Kaisers Philippus Arabs (um 204 bis 249 n. Chr.).
